Slide & Splash - Algarve
Slide and Splash opens early in the season, and stays open later than all the other water parks.
The name says it all. Slide and Splash is one of the leading Algarve attractions and should definitely be on your list of things to do in Portugal. It's a day of sliding down the Kamikaze or the Black Hole and splashing in the Olympic sized pool. The park is good for children of all ages but it is particularly excellent for little ones.
With over 25,000m of grass areas there is plenty of room for everyone, even at the height of the summer season. If you don't fancy the slides, you can relax beneath a palm tree or enjoy a leisurely swim in the Olympic sized pool.
There are lots of slides to choose from including the more adventurous Kamikaze (hang onto your swimsuit!) and the Bonzai (good for racing against a friend), to the slightly less daunting plunge pools and some wide lane slides. The children´s area is 1200 meters of pure fun: a water spitting dragon, elephant slides, tunnel slides and wide lane slides. In the kids area, the water has a maximum depth of 40 cms.
There are several kiosk selling snacks, ice creams and drinks and a self-service restaurant. There is a first aid post, just in case. The park is clean and well maintained; the maintenance managers are constantly circling the park checking on all the rides and ensuring that each slide has its own lifeguard. You can hire out sun loungers, parasols and lockers too.
Slide and Splash is both great fun and great value and, without doubt, it is one of the most exciting water parks in the Algarve.
