The Best of Algarve Nightlife
Being the Algarve, party fun is never too far from the beach.
Nightlife in the Algarve is not all fado and folkdances. There are plenty of hot summer party spots where you can dance all night long. From cool and funky to all out dancing on the tables, there’s pretty much something for everyone.
Being the Algarve, party fun is never too far from the beach or the sea. There are fabulous sunset parties at beach bars and clubs along the coast, with live music and DJs. Full moon parties, colour parties, theme parties for all tastes. Check out Julia’s and Izzys at Praia da Garrão, Breeze Papagaio at Vale do Lobo or the Thai Beach Club in Vilamoura for sunset parties and relaxed vibes. NoSoloAgua in Portimão is famous for not only for its sunset parties, it’s also a party hotspot in the west Algarve with dancing, music and fun until dawn. For the most unique party spot, head for Caniço at Prainha - a fabulous bar and restaruant carved from the beachside cliffs. For cosmopolitan chillin’ there is no better spot than the Conrad Algarve. There are sexy Lunar Jazz evenings by the pool and Sunset Chill Out session on the Gusto terrace.
Die hard clubbers may want to head to the famous clubs like Kadoc, Kiss and Le Club, but there is a whole world of bars and lounge bars that are open to the early hours of the morning. The famous Praça at Vale do Lobo has live entertainment earlier in the evening on the open air stage, and then DJs and karaoke mayhem at Monty’s until late. Elite Bar, recently opened just outside Almancil, has regular theme parties and a great garden for kicking back and relaxing. On the Rocks in Praia da Rocha is open all day, changing from a relaxing bar with a fabulous view of the beach to a lively party spot with DJs and live music until dawn.
For all out, loud fun, it’s hard to beat an Irish bar – and there are plenty in the Algarve. Love ‘em or hate ‘em, a good time is pretty much guaranteed. Live music, lots of laughter and that intangible ingredient known as “craic”! Look for The Black Stove or Paddys Bar in Alvor, Ireland’s Eye in Praia da Rocha, O’Neill’s on the marina in Vilamoura and de Barra's classy Irish bar in Quinta do Lago.
Dancing on the tables isn’t restricted to Irish bars. The Bon Vivant in Lagos is an iconic nightspot. The fabulous roof-top terrace overlooking the town is perfect for good humored relaxation while the lower floor is for dancing on the tables and letting it rip.
